2001 Census UK information

Since the collection of data in 2001, the Office of National Statistics has spent a lot of time analysing the raw data and turning it into some very useful reports. The ONS now have an entire section of their website devoted to the presentation of these reports along with supporting information and advice on collecting your own data.

Some of the reports we have found useful during the creation of this website are:

Other information sources

The following are just some of a growing collection of information sources providing ethnicity and religious statistical data.

  • Adherents is a US-based website that has been painstakingly put together by a single person (Preston Hunter) and contains a wealth of statistical information about the religions of the world.

  • The BBC has a very good and easy-to-digest section on religions and ethics, which includes a simple statistical summary of the major religions both in the UK and worldwide.

  • Produced by the CIA (the Central Intelligence Agency in the USA), The World Factbook is an extremely useful guide that is full of data about the economy, geography and people of each country in the world, including a country-by-country breakdown of Religions and Ethnic groups.

A fairy tale ballet was written by Russian writer Pyotr llyich in around 1891-92. It was 1944 when the first complete production of Nutcracker in the U.S. took place, performed by the San Francisco Ballet, and choreographed by Willam Christensen. Later people adopted that and made the ballet in their own version, this roster includes George Balanchine whose work was challenged by Mikhail Baryshnikov and than Mark Morris. Various videos of Nutcracker have been made and praised by the viewers. Nut rocker was the perfect example, the single went on #1 in UK and #21 in USA. Nutcracker tale and Nutcracker videos remained popular for a long time.
