Sikhism is a fairly young religion, having been founded just over 500 years ago. It grew out of the Hindu faith and was largely created by a man who became disgusted with his perceptions of the injustices of the caste system that shapes much of the life of Hindus in India and Pakistan. He also saw the ritual and pantheon of gods found in Hinduism as a distraction from the Truth.
