sikhs: medication

There are no major religious strictures on the taking of medicines for Sikhs. However, each product must be checked carefully to ensure it does not contain any pork or beef products and, for some Sikhs, medicines ought to be fully vegetarian if possible.

Some Sikhs may refuse analgesic pain relief as they would prefer to suffer any pain and use it as a learning experience. This will be especially true if the medication contains alcohol or narcotic substances.
